Dance Music Reviews

December 4th saw the release Evil lurks by Wolfgang Gartner on Ultra Music.

Alongside Tom Staar,Wolfgang has captured the essence of the mythical monsters under the bed of our youth. Admittedly Wolfgang has stated on his facebook that he felt this should have been released near Halloween, Evil lurks features a darker take on the classic Gartner sound all the while retaining the funky vibes we have come to know him for.

Featuring heavy hitting 128 beats, wild progressions, a beastly electrofied bassline and a sinister melody, Evil lurks delivers on all levels and is sure to fire on a dance floor. When it comes to consistency, Wolfgang has become one of the first names that comes to mind. With a Grammy nomination in 2010,eight songs in the #1 position on the Beatport Top 10 Chart and the highest selling single on Beatport for 2009 with Wolfgang’s 5th symphony, Wolfgang has risen to become one of the most popular electro artists in the scene.

Recently,Wolfgang has been busy non stop packing venues as part of a 5 week, 30 date tour supporting his recent release Love and War. It was during this tour Wolfgang had introduced Evil lurks for the first time, regularly including it in his sets to great effect.

Wolfgang’s partner in crime founding member of Moda records UK born Tom Staar has long been engrained in the fabrics of the European EDM scene. Having done remixes for the likes of Crookers, We Have Band and Fenech Soler as well as successful original remixes. Tom has garnered support from many influential members of the global EDM scene such as Radio 1’s Annie Mac.
